The Topcon CT-80 Non-Contact Tonometer measures the pressure of your eye with a soft puff of air. This provides an instantaneous reading of the eye pressure. Typically three readings for each eye are obtained. The eye pressure is important as elevated pressure or a pattern of increasing pressure over a period of time (either within the same day, or over a period of years) may indicate glaucoma. Additionally, for patients with glaucoma, the pressure of the eye helps your doctor to determine the appropriate treatment regimen.
